Tack Fusing: Landscapes & Bouquets
Wednesday, January 226:00—8:00 PMMakerSpaceMedford Public Library111 High Street, Medford, MA, 02155
In this 2 hour glass fusing workshop you will learn the basics of glass fusing by creating one tile (8” x 10”) that will be kiln-fired at 1400 degrees - a low temperature that allows the glass elements of your design to stay 3 dimensional. To create your composition, you will work with powders, frit, confetti, copper shapes, stringers, and glass pieces.
Landscapes and flowers are popular sources of inspiration, but you are welcome to explore other ideas.
Your instructor, Michel L’Huillier, will fire your creation in his own kiln. The glass creations will be returned mounted in a white or black shadow box.
The workshop is for adults. No previous glass experience is necessary.
Safety note: Students must wear closed toe shoes. Safety glasses are required and will be provided for students not wearing eyeglasses.
