DIY Zine Workshop: Create, Share, Inspire!
Monday, July 217:00—8:30 PMStudy Room 5Medford Public Library111 High Street, Medford, MA, 02155
It's International Zine Library Day! Unleash your creativity and share your voice with the world through zine-making! This hands-on workshop explores the art of creating zines—small, self-published booklets that can be about anything you’re passionate about. Whether you're into poetry, art, activism, personal stories, or random musings, this program will guide you through the process of designing, assembling, and sharing your very own zine. Let’s make something amazing together!
Introduction to Zines: Learn about the history and cultural significance of zines as a medium for self-expression and community building.
Creative Brainstorming: Get inspired with prompts and ideas to help you decide on a theme or topic for your zine.
Hands-On Creation: Use provided materials (paper, scissors, glue, markers, collage supplies, etc.) to design and assemble your zine. Feel free to bring any materials that inspire you!
Copy & Share: Learn how to photocopy and distribute your zine, or trade with others in the group.
Zine Library Contribution: Optional opportunity to add your zine to the library’s growing zine take-one-leave-one collection in the Cafe for others to enjoy!
No prior experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
