Join us to learn more about Tufts University Prison Initiative! Tufts offers a college degree program in prison, and a robust reentry program on campus for people coming home. Why? Education is the strongest factor in reducing recidivism, the rate at which people return to prison. Nationally, 75% of people return to prison within five years, but for those who earn a college degree it drops to less than 5%. Hear from formerly incarcerated activist David Devalle about his experience with the Tufts University Prison Initiative (TUPIT) and how it transformed his perspective and goals. You'll meet Tufts staff and students,  and hear about the transformative work of TUPIT. Bring your curiosity and questions,  and bring a friend!
